Boiling-water taps and hot cupboards: planning services early

Specialist taps are no longer a novelty, they are standard in many briefs. Each manufacturer specifies minimum pressure, bore sizes, and often a dedicated electrical spur or fused outlet under the sink.
With the carcass layout
We allocate void depth for cylinders or filter packs before door heights are fixed. If you are pairing with a hot cupboard or warming drawer, we align those loads with the same run so your electrician can group circuits sensibly.
Water quality and maintenance
Filters have replacement intervals; hard water areas scale boilers and heat exchangers faster. We leave access to change cartridges without dismantling the sink cabinet and note manufacturer descaling advice in your handover pack.
Boiling-water safety locks and child modes vary by brand. We set handle height and landing zones so kettles and flexes are not fighting the same space as the tap.
When something goes wrong
Leaks under high-pressure systems need visible isolation and space for an engineer to work. We avoid boxing in combined services so tightly that the first service call requires a saw.
