Integrated appliances and the pursuit of clean lines
8 January 2026 · Design
Integrated appliances are unforgiving: the manufacturer’s ventilation requirements, hinge types, and service access must coexist with the door design you want on the outside.
One drawing set
We work from the appliance data sheets into the carcass and door schedules so gaps are consistent across a run. That avoids the last-minute 3 mm shim that throws a whole elevation off.
If you are mixing freestanding and integrated pieces, we call out the visual breaks early so the composition feels intentional rather than accidental.
Fridges, freezers, and ventilation
Column refrigeration often needs dedicated supplies, precise cut-outs for hinges, and in some cases active ventilation into a plenum. We cross-check every dimension against the latest model year because suppliers refresh ranges more often than brochures update.
Dishwasher integration includes toe-kick plinth details, anti-condensation measures, and ensuring the door opens without fouling an island or a perpendicular run.
Ovens, microwaves, and warming drawers
Stacked appliances need intermediate shelves rated for weight and heat. We align eye-level ovens with worktop breaks so hot trays have a safe landing, and we set warming drawers where children will not lean on glass.
